Meet Maize

Maize is a 5 year old Golden Retriever who was rescued. Her past is somewhat unknown, but when we got her she was very underweight and skittish. It is believed that she may have been forced to fight either for food or for protection as it has been mentioned that she may have been used as a bait dog for fighting dogs to train on due to her protective nature against other dogs. There are scars around her muzzle and what appears to be shotgun pellets or from a bb gun throughout her body. Now she is a very loving couch potato who loves walks and cuddling with her dad. She would walk the earth and back just to be laying next to her dad.
