Meet Bodie

Bode is a canine "surprise pregnancy". A backyard breeder in Oakland was desperate to get rid of him as his four other litter mates were all spoken for. Of all places my brother saw his picture one day while browsing on Craigslist for something else. We had lost our previous dog Benjie in July 2011 at age 15 and I could not fathom another dog. Bode was a 9 week old puppy when he was adopted on impulse from the breeder. He said that Bode's picture was posted on other websites in addition to Craigslist, and that they would have surrendered him to a shelter had he not been "out the door" by 5 months. It freaks me out what could have happened had Bode not been discovered by my brother. He looks exactly like Benji and hangs out in all the usual spots around the house that Benji did. Oddly, Benji died on July 8 and Bode was born December 8, so maybe we have our old boy back but in a more mischievous way?
