The Kerry Blue Terrier
The Irish family dog
An all-purpose breed, the intelligent Kerry Blue Terrier is up for anything. Native to Ireland, the Kerry, originally bred to hunt and retrieve, was used by the peasantry to covertly hunt on noble hunting grounds. Today, the active, fun-loving Kerry makes a wonderful family dog, though one with a high prey drive. Weighing in the neighbourhood of 33-40 pounds, the Kerry is a great size for both farm and city.
