Our dogs give us the gift of daily walks providing us not only the opportunity to spend some fun and relaxing playtime outdoors with them, but also a chance to commune with nature and connect with Mother Earth. So what better way to commemorate Earth Day AND show our dogs how much they’re loved by contributing to the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree For Pets program.

For every dollar given through Trees for Pets, one tree will be planted in American forests to help replace grand trees that are lost through fire or disease.

There are two ways to plant Trees For Pets:

By planting Trees in Celebration, owners can commemorate wonderful times shared with a long-time pet or to celebrate the adoption of a new pet into the family. Trees in Celebration can also be given to friends who love animals. A certificate for the recipient is included with Trees in Celebration.

Planting Trees in Memory gives animal lovers an opportunity to honor a special companion or to plant trees for someone who has lost a pet. Trees given in memory of a pet will provide food and shelter to wildlife for decades to come.

Pacific Spirit Park is where I go to get my nature fix. Here’s a pic I took while on a recent dog-walk there…
