Ontario SPCA Searches for “Grand Marshall” for Friends for Life! Walk
Is your pet ready to strut its stuff for a great cause? The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is searching for a Canine Grand Marshall for its 2014 Friends for Life! Walk™ presented by Nutrience. Designed to raise funds and awareness for the protection and care of all animals in Ontario, the Friends for Life! Walk is taking place in 17 communities across Ontario over the weekend of Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21, 2014. Each event will include a fundraising walk and fun activities for walkers and their pets, and your dog could be the four-legged leader!
You are invited to pitch for your pooch at the Ontario SCPA Facebook site at www.facebook.ca/OntarioSPCA until July 1st, 2014. Just sign up for your local Friends for Life! Walk and submit a photo of your pet, the story behind your pet and why you think your four-legged friend deserves to be Grand Marshall. The top 10 most liked stories will receive a gift basket and be entered into the selection process for the grand prize. The winner will receive a professional photo shoot and become the next poster pet for Friends for Life! Walk marketing materials in 2015.
The winning pet will also be invited to an official “crowning ceremony” at the Ontario SPCA headquarters in Newmarket to kick off the weekend of activities on Saturday, September 20 at 9am. The Grand Marshall will lead the Newmarket walk with Tanya Kim of CTV’s ETALK, the Honourary Provincial Chairperson for the Friends for Life! Walk, along with her dog and best friend, Miss Louise.
