Home remedies for common problems
To remove chewing gum or tree sap from your dog’s fur, use a small amount of olive oil or other vegetable oil and work it into the gum/sap until it begins to soften. Once soft you can comb it out and bath the remaining oil out of your pet’s fur.
If your dog has been sprayed by a skunk, bathe your dog in a mixture of one quart of hydrogen peroxide (four cups), 1/4-cup baking soda, and one teaspoon liquid soap. Work the solution into the fur (avoiding eyes) then rinse.—EP & LS
