Roxy and Cash love fall!
I hope all of my Canadian readers had a wonderful Thanksgiving this past weekend! To celebrate we gave the dogs a disgustingly delicious dish made of mashed chic peas, carrots, cucumber, sardines and raw ground beef. To me, barfy, to them, the best thing that ever happened.
After devouring their special holiday feast, we decided to spend the dayย searching for adventure, and stumbled upon a really awesome sandy beach only 15 minutes from our house! The dogs love to play in the water, and Cash is getting more and more comfortable with swimming. Look how far out he went to retrieve his stick!
So far! I have to admit I was nervous, but once he came closer I was jumping up and down, yelling like an embarrassing hockey mom at her son’s first game! Cash was pretty proud of himself, too.
Roxy wanted a turn as well, however Cash is too fast and always manages to steal her stick away before she can snag it from the incoming waves.
To get around this, Jer distracted Cash while Roxy and I headed further down the beach to play just us girls.
Is that a tiny otter or a mysterious sea slug hiding among the rocks? Neither, that’s just Roxy hoarding the sticks she was able to collect without Cash’s constant interference.
After they finished up with all their tomfoolery, we decided to explore some of the horse trails that follow the beach to give them a chance to dry off. Theย surrounding woods were picturesque and the ideal setting for a fall stroll!
When our walk first began, Roxy and Cash remained at a relatively similar pace…
but by the end of the walk, Roxy and I were a good 10 minutes behind. Oh well, more time for girl talk.
To sum up the day, we pretty much had the best Thanksgiving ever. Suffice it to say, those dogs are two of the things I am MOST thankful for. Them, and this beautiful view on a lovely October afternoon…
