Meet Mattie

Mattie was surrendered to the Manhattan ACC shelter in late July 2010 due to the city's low-income housing ban on dogs over 25lbs. It seems the city prefers people in the projects acquire more guns to feel safe than have a family dog. About 10 days later, on August 7, 2010, Mattie was put on the euthanasia list, and being mostly black and part Pit Bull, he stood no real chance of adoption. So with the aid of a local rescue group, I adopted Mattie merely to save his life and find him a new home. But in no time, we fell in love and here he stays...hogging all the space in bed that he can. Oh, and his favorite spot to hang out is in the pachysandra at his Grandma's house.
