Four years ago I was in a fight for my life with a rare cancer.  Two weeks into my treatments, which consisted of deadly doses of chemo and radiation, my wife could see my downhill spiral-both physical and mental. Believe it or not the mental was the worst part of the daily ordeal.

In her wisdom she decided to go out and get a puppy! Absolutely full of boundless energy she KNEW that me having to care for this fur ball all day would take my mind off of all the cancer stuff.

It worked!

I no longer had the time or energy to dwell on my situation-it was now in my hands to raise this little guy. So endless hours we spent together. I was raising him and he was caring for me. It all worked out and now a few years later he still lies by my feet as I write this. He helped save my life.

When all the treatments were over (and I did make a full recovery) I had the inspiration to write a book about Jesus and what his life would have been like had he had the love of a dog such as I did. I titled the book—If Jesus Had a Dog by Donald Hart.

Anyhow one thing led to another and seeing a great need for  pet parents of faith I started a company and named it Christian Pet.  Our slogan is “cool things for pet parents of faith”. We now have two unique types of collars with matching leads; two very unique jewelry pieces in sterling silver; and my pet memorial I call Rainbow Bridge for Believers.  You may see it all at www.christianpet.net
