It takes an army of animal welfare organizations to pull this off! On Thursday night 4/30/15, Animal Aid USA and their fleet of rigs, vans and cars will depart Hammonton, NJ bound for Georgia to save 227 dogs’ lives…with 2 tons of dog food in tow (thanks to VeRUS Pet Foods)! Although this is old hat to them (as they do this EVERY month like clockwork), this trip will be like no other!

They will reach 10,000 rescued lives with this trip! The trip has been named “Vito’s Voyage” in memory of long time Animal Aid friend/supporter Vito Emanuele. Guess what the name of the 10,000th dog to be saved is? Yep! Vito!!!!

Normally, there are sending rescue groups on one end (Georgia) and receiving rescue groups on the other (New Jersey), but for the first time ever, the receivers are going to meet the senders at a presentation ceremony hosted by Carpathia Paws to be held on Saturday, 5/2 at 11:30am at 1618 Airport Rd, Hinesville, GA. Some of the day’s events and attendees will include:

**Special guests Georgina Bloomberg (Animal Aid Vice President & daughter of NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg) and Prince Lorenzo Borghese (Co-founder & President of Animal Aid USA) will be in attendance.

** Bruce Smith, co-owner of Pets Plus Natural (stores in PA/NJ) along with his team will be a part of this caravan rescue trip! The Humane Society of the US will be represented as well! Pets Plus is a puppy store who up until recently sold puppy mill pups. The Humane Society of the US has been working with them to convert EVERY store to only adopting out rescued animals…both working hard to prove there is ample supply to meet demand! NO MORE PUPPY MILLS!!! A tour of a potential puppy quarantine facility will take place in Okatie, SC with our team members at Palmetto Animal League.

**Hinesville Mayor James Thomas will be speaking to the audience and presenting recognition plaques to special community members.

**Non-profit organization Canine Wounded Heroes will be presenting certificates for seven K9 Ballistic vests to the K9 team under the direction of Lt. Sascha Krumnow. The Liberty County Sherriff's Office will be there with Hinesville PD, Ft. Stewart K9 and a team of K9 officers conducting a demonstration of the dogs’ skills.

**Amazing Grace , the famous Liberty County dog who survived the gas chamber and went on to become the face of Grace's Law (banning the use of gas chambers in Georgia) will be there!

On Saturday 5/2 at 7pm, the animal saving fleet will depart for New Jersey and Florida with help from sister rescue group, Allmon's All About Animals. They will arrive back in NJ on Sunday 5/3.
