We received this email from NWAL Herding Dog Rescue, a wonderful group rescuing Shelties and Collies in Southern WV, which brought us to tears.

I don't know who to go to but I have a special request. A beautiful senior Sheltie that was used as a bait dog and dropped on the side of the road in a trash bag for someone to find went through heart worm treatment, but didn't make it…he just passed away a few days ago. He was so precious and it brings me to tears when I know what happened to him. We have him listed (http://moderndogmagazine.com/photocontest/entry/brett) for Dog of the Week in your contests, however, I would love it, if you could, just this once, just take him and make him Dog of the Month because of what he was and how special he was and the enduring that he went through at the hands of cruel people.

We are honoured to be able to feature Brett (http://moderndogmagazine.com/photocontest/entry/brett) and hope he is aware of the lives he touched and that, at the end, he was loved. To all the rescuers out there, a million blessings. Thank you for endeavouring to set wrongs right.
