Meet Bongo

Bongo was my brother's dog before he passed away in February of 2012. My wife and I have never had a dog before, so it was with much trepidation that we decided to adopt Bongo. Even though I had never met Bongo before our first meetup at the animal shelter where he was being kept, we bonded right away. I have to say it was one of the best decisions we could have made. Bongo is a part of our family now, and it would be hard to imagine life without him. I even enjoy our 6am walks together, even though he pulls like a Mack truck and if I'm not careful when a squirrel or rabbit jumps out, my arm could get pulled right out of its socket. (This is something we're working on with increasing success, thank god.) Nevertheless, he is one dynamite dog and as sweet as can be. Soon after this picture was taken we switched to a more supposedly indestructible ball. I give its life expectancy at about another week or so.
