We all know how important seeing-eye dogs are to the blind, they’re trained (at great expense) and then become an indispensable part of a vision impaired person’s life. I was surprised to learn that miniature horses are now being trained as a seeing-eye dog alternative. One of the biggest advantages is that they live far longer than dogs do, making them a cost-effective alternative.

Check out this video of Dan Shaw, apparently the world’s first recipient of a seeing-eye horse… quite amazing!
