Back by popular demand after launching on national television at Universal Studios Hollywood … the first-ever portable wave maker will be coming through the Big Apple in search of the most talented local surfing dogs. Audition winners will appear as canine surfers on the Lucy Pet Foundation 2017 Rose Parade float.

While it may not be exactly an endless summer, the surf will definitely be up in New York City when Lucy Pet Foundation’s Gnarly Crank’n K-9 Wave Maker rides into town to audition the most talented NYC area surfing canines. After successful appearances at Universal Studios Hollywood, America’s Family Pet Expo and Bark at the Park with the Oakland Athletics and Houston Astros, “pet parents from around the country are excited to get a chance to test their dogs surfing skills for a spot on the 2017 Rose Parade float,” said Joey Herrick, founder of the Lucy Pet Foundation and Lucy Pet Products.

All NYC area pet parents can bring their dogs to auditions on Sunday, Sept. 18 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals “Adoptapalooza” at Union Square Park or purchase a special Bark at the Park ticket to go to the New York Mets game on Wednesday, Sept. 21 with the family dog. Prior to being seated and on the way into Citi Field, all surfin’ canines can audition from  3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Lucy Pet Foundation’s Gnarly Crank’n K-9 Wave Maker consists of a 75-foot long tractor-trailer filled with 5,000 gallons of water will also be making appearances in Northern and Southern Calif., before it makes its way to Pasadena on Jan. 2 at the Rose Parade.

“These surfing auditions are really a fun time,” added Herrick. “It’s great to see the smiles on the dogs, owners and spectators faces. We encourage everyone to come out and showcase those pooches with surfing talents. Who knows, they could be surfing on our Guinness Record setting float in the Rose Parade in Pasadena come Jan. 2, 2017.
