Meet Derby

During this difficult period in my life, Derby is vital for my mental health. My stress and loneliness are reduced, and she offers me a sense of protection, even though she is more bark than bite. She alerts me to strange noises, trash trucks, and the man-eating squirrels in the yard. Derby forgives me for my anger and frustrations long before I forgive myself. She makes me laugh at myself, and at her and her quirkiness. She has saved me.
