Meet Vida
Vida in spanish means LIFE which is what this dog wanted nothing more than to LIVE. Vida was the runt of the litter, born deaf with half her face paralized from complications at birth. Vida was two weeks old when I took her from her mom- she hadn't eaten for 3 days and the owner at the time was gonna let nature take its course, but when I heard of the situation I couldn't let that happen. When I first saw her she didn't even look like a dog, more like a spider - a lump of meat with limbs she was less than a pound and didn't have enough strength to walk. I took her home and bottle fed her and she has been nothing but joy to my life and others. I love her so so much and she is so noticeable - the first thing they see is her tongue hanging out of her mouth which makes her look happy. Because she is paralized on one side of her face and deaf she literally walks in circles around us at the dog park. In the photo above she is about 4 months old.
