Meet Sophie-Doodle
On September 11, 2012, Miss Sophie was rescued from a ditch on the side of a dirt road clinging to life. She was covered in ticks and fleas and she was so weak, she could barely lift her head. I got her home and had to syringe water into her mouth to get her to drink. She was extremely dehydrated and I could count just about every bone in her body. After some water, she perked up a bit. We gave her a bath, gave her a good meal and got rid of the ticks and fleas. She had bite wounds all over her body so we think she might have been used as a bait puppy and tossed away to die. It is now five months later. She lost her puppy teeth, has gained weight and is a wonderful, affectionate, adorable member of our family. I picked her up with the intention of finding her a home but it looks like she's already found one....ours. She will have some life long health issues because of her severe mal-nutrition as a baby but we are willing to deal with that. I want to start a dog rescue for unwanted, damaged or unloved dogs. I will call it "Sophie's Place." Thank you for reading my baby's story.
