Meet Sonny

My fiance and I have been volunteering at our local animal shelter for over two years now. Almost two years ago, we fell in love with Sonny. At first, I was a bit intimidated by Sonny's Harley Davidson collar but, as soon as I entered his pen area, I realized he was a big baby! He immediately rolled onto his back and I sat down on the floor with him to rub his belly. His tail wagging, he jumped up and put his paw on my knee as if to say "Can we go now?". I gave him forehead kisses and promised to come back for him. At the time, my fiance and I didn't live together and neither of us were allowed to have pets in our apartments. We decided that if Sunny was meant to be ours then we'd have time to figure things out. So, we decided to move in together and find a pet-friendly apartment! Every week for a few weeks, we went back to the shelter and spent more and more time with Sonny. Finally, one day, my fiance came home with Sonny! It was a very sweet surprise. Recently, Sonny helped Chris propose at the local animal shelter and our story made the front page of the local newspaper. I love my Sonny!
