Meet Shila

Shila was rescued last February after being turned into a local Animal Control facility with a shattered leg. The rescue who turned her in couldn't afford to fix her leg, so another rescue, Dolly's Foundation, pulled her. They started a chip-in to raise the money to have her leg amputated, had her fully vetted and then put her up on their website. She came to me originally as a short term emergency foster, but I fell in love with her and the rest is history. After 8 days of her snuggling in my bed, I made a phone call, sent an email and signed her adoption contract on April 22, 2011, ten days after she entered my home. Now she is a 16 month old bundle of energy who has helped me lose 30 pounds and taught me about strength of character and of full commitment. We've had some rough patches, but I am not willing to give up on this girl for anything.
