Meet Sasha

Greetings from Pacific Grove. Here is my little 3-year-old Red Smooth Mini-Dachshund Sasha and her friend Lassie. Lassie is a Collie Patricia a local retiree who loves her dearly, Lassie is a rescue - see Lassie is blind. During the week after work I take Sasha to Rip Van Winkle Open Space here in Pacific Grove where over time she has attached herself to the "big dog" group that also shows up for play and walks. But in my view her special friend is Lassie, and as these photos show these two have developed quite the friendship. Even when we get to the woods early and walk the trails of the dog park, one or the other knows when either one is there. I know either Lassie or her other friends (these include Farley-the Dalmatian, Cali- the Boxer, two Ridgebacks and a few others) have arrived when I see what I call "wiggle-butt syndrome" - tail goes a mile a minute, butt and legs in frantic movement - and off Sasha goes running down the trail to the "mosh pit" (an open area we all congregate), while she greets each friend and accompanying human in turn I feel there is special bond with Lassie as these photos show.
