Meet PICO
One of the best days of our lives will forever be the day we adopted this tiny, little angel Pico. A rescued older Chihuahua (but, very young at heart) was the one who stole my heart ! I am a single, divorced mother of four young children and we decided that a Chihuahua would be the next member of our family. I had been trolling PetFinder.com for days late into the nights after I'd finally gotten all of the children to sleep and lunches packed. Looking at literally thousands of pictures and stories, I was starting to worry that I might not find that one, the one that gets you right away, the one that makes your heart jump and almost makes you jump right out of your office chair. Then, it happened... BOOM, POW ! I saw him ! They must have just added him, he wasn't even there the night before. I called and emailed every contact they had (and probably more) until I tracked him down to his new foster parent's home. Two days later, I was picking my children up from school with our little treasure in tow ! We had just been blessed with an all consuming, over whelming gift from God himself. I mean really...a Chihuahua that never growls, nips or barks and loves every single person and child he meets ! He has become one of the most adored, by all, attractions wherever we take him. Even people who don't like dogs, much less tiny ones who's breeds are given bad raps by a few of their own kind who snap and bark constantly. No matter whether we are with family and friends, or out in large crowds and big events, he is kinder and more willing to meet new friends than any living creature around. At our church carnival, after being photographed, followed and groped by adults, elderly people and children, a girl in a wheelchair came over and asked to pet him. I let her hold, pet and hug him generously. When it was time to go, I put him on the floor to stretch his legs a bit, and he walked right past me and went over to stand next to her wheelchair so he could sit with her again. She was beaming with joy ! A few months later, somebody at church told me that she always remembered him...AMAZING ! Pico is our miracle.
