Meet Mitzi Mae
Mitzi Mae came into our lives September 2010. We had recently lost our little buddy Snoopy, a Yorkie and Cocker mix that lived to 23 years. We decided to go to a local rescue to look at a different dog, but when we got there, she followed my partner everywhere and would not leave him. Then I sat on the floor cross legged with another dog in my lap, and she pushed him away as if to say, “Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh no, this is my family!!!” In fact, the councilor said she knew we came in to see a different dog, but that she had chosen us, and she was our dog. We’ve never looked back and have enjoyed every single moment we have with her. We take her to a family member’s beach house in FL and love watching her run at top speed up and down the beach chasing birds and barking at the dolphins, who seem to enjoy her playfulness as well. We’ve actually grown closer to neighbors as her infectious smile has a tendency to draw people in. She had been abandoned on the streets for quite sometime and had been captured by the animal control in our county and scheduled to be “put down.” I can’t imagine putting down these wonderful creatures who only want to bring joy, love, and belong to you and your family. We love our little Mitzi Mae - Our Lady of Perpetual Spoiledness
