Meet Max and Rux

These are my dogs, Maxwell Oliver (white) and his little brother Ruckstell Grover. Max was rescued from an animal shelter after he was surrendered. While he was in the pound he caught kennel cough, which progressed into a respiratory infection. The infection later turned into pneumonia, he was hospitalized for the first two weeks we had him. The veterinarian gave him a 30% chance of surviving. He is a fighter. Ruckstell came from a farm. He was kept in a pig pen, literally. He and his 12 siblings were kept outside away from human contact and other dogs. When he was 2 months old, I rescued him. A week after I got him, he stopped eating and became dehydrated. He had parvovirus and was hospitalized for the two weeks. The veterinarian didn’t think he would survive. This picture was taken 3 years after Max survived his rush with pneumonia and 3 months after Rux beat the odds. My boys are truly a blessing.
