Meet Koya
Koya is the newest addition to the Perks family. She's a long dog with short legs and big feet, people that see her think she's a Husky/basset hound/corgi/collie. I say...who knows? Whatever she is, she is 100% adorable. I found out about her on Facebook, her photo was up and she was available for a adoption at SPCA Outaouais rescue in Quebec. Apparently Koya and her 2 brothers were dropped off at the SPCA so there's no history on her. It was love at first sight. I took the train to Ottawa and finally met Koya. She stole the hearts of so many travelers and all of the Via Rail staff. Via rail train staff were very pet friendly, and made sure that Koya was looked after before and during her 4.5 hour train travel back to Toronto with me. When she was finally in Toronto, she was all kisses and massive amounts of tail wagging. :-) 4 months later, Koya is still the happiest and sweetest thing. She excelled at basic obedience classes, she loves everyone and every dog and is very well socialized, her tail waggles are so intense it takes the bottom half of her lower body with it, she's the oddest dog as she sleeps on her back in the cutest positions, and for a long dog with big feet and no legs, she can really run. Every day we are amazed and grateful that we are so lucky to have her in our lives. She also has a small group of followers on her facebook page to follow her adventures around the city: http://www.facebook.com/thedailykoya
