Meet Karma Rai

Karma Rai is a miracle puppy! Born on February 26th 2008. Two days prior to picking up Karma Rai in Round Up, Montana bad news came my way. " Sorry, Jennifer we regret to inform you that Karma Rai has a bit of a hop in her gate. There is a possibility that she could have Hip Dyslasia or an injury at birth from the forceps. Would you be interested in picking out another puppy or waiting for the next litter?" I was devastated. There was no way I was going to pick out another puppy. She was already my screen saver and my baby! I said "Absolutely not" I want her no matter what the risks may be. The breeder agreed to me picking her up and gave her to me at no charge. At five months Karma had her first bought of x rays and the vet informed me that she had two extra large vertabrae at the base of her spine. It was too early to tell what the potential damage could be? But it wasn't looking like hip displasia. At seven months she went back in to be spayed and another set of x rays. Later that evening I received a phone call from Dr. Macleod. My heart was racing as I was prepared for the worst case scenario. Is this problem worsening or not? "Jennifer, just calling to let you know that Karma is doing well and MIRACULOUSLY there is nothing in the x ray" :) This was unbelievable. Karma is my little miracle and was from the day I picked her up. One of the most loving and beautiful dogs I have ever met. There isn't a person that meets her that doesn't fall in love with her. She is still a runt and weighs out at 50 lbs. The average weight for her breed is 60 - 75 lbs. But full of LOVE and AFFECTION Good things come in small packages.
