Meet Denver

Denver is a Cocker Spaniel Mix that we rescued from Kokomo, IN in 2005. He was abandoned in a field at the age of five, after several attempts by his previous owners to run him over with their car. Thankfully, a bystander intervened and brought him to a friend, who happened to operate a rescue organization. Just a few days later, we found Denver on petfinder.com and fell in love instantly. We made the 6+ hour drive to Kokomo, thinking we were picking up a puppy. Turns out, he was severely malnourished and matted, and even the rescuers couldn't guess how old he was. After consulting with several vets, we estimated his age to be five-years-old at the time of adoption. Due to years of neglect, we've battled chronic ear infections and tooth extractions (but, he manages to eat tennis balls as though he has a full set of chompers). We'll celebrate his 11th birthday this year, on his new birthday, which marks the anniversary of the day he joined our family, making us complete.
