Meet Copper

Copper and I first met down a county road on a hot Texas summer day. As the truck pulled in closer it became apparent that there was a scrony yellow pup sitting in the middle of the road. Three years later Copper has found himself smack dab in the middle of paradise. Despite not being allowed in the house at first, he now sleeps on the bed (on his back) every night. Copper has many talents including hunting, retrieving, herding cattle, and many more. His loyal nature is comforting, and I feel a bond with him that is especially apparent when he looks into your eyes. The Black Mouth Cur isn't as well known as other breeds despite being the star in the novel Old Yeller.
