Meet Chloe
Chloe is not just an aesthetically beautiful dog, though she receives so many compliments on her appearance that I was convinced to enter this contest. This photo was taken at Chimney Park, an awesome dog park in Portland. Growing up in Louisiana, no one had huskies though my late mother loved them and dreamed of being owned by one. I have happy memories of reading the stories of the Iditarod and have now fulfilled a dream for both myself and my mother. Chloe truly shines around children (who hug her and say "snow doggie") and the elderly. She volunteers with me at a local farmer's market. As is typical of the Siberian Husky breed, Chloe is a runner and a true canine athlete. Yet she is not a "Husky Houdini" escape artist, nor does she dig up the yard. She greets me happily after I have been away with what I call the "Chloe Dance" - videos forthcoming on my Youtube channel under (mariposalillie). Chloe's training as an Emotional Therapy Dog and AKC Canine Good Citizen will begin soon now that she is a mature puppy. Along with 3-5% of the population, I have panic disorder which at times can be debilitating. I have noticed great improvements in my condition since adopting Chloe, who was rehomed to me due to her former family's move to Arizona. Her energy is contagious, her outlook on life is an inspiration, and she is truly my baby who lives to please all she encounters. Chloe knows how to balance being a working dog and a pet dog effortlessly. Her love is unconditional and boundless, and we look forward to many happy years together!
