Meet Charlie
We saw lots of sad looking dogs in Puerto Rico, but Charlie was the first dog we saw who we thought was dead. He was so skinny, he looked like a dried out frog, laying there on the beach. He was just a sack of skin and bones, and he was pooping blood, and very sick when we got him. We've had him two years now, and he is turning out to be the sweetest, smartest most loving dog you can imagine. He performs with me in a summer "Dog Comedy" show we put on at Whole Dog Camp, Peaks Island Maine. He also trains in freestyle, agility and hearing service behaviors. When we brought him home, he had lots of interesting "issues" including gorging on food and then running to find a place (guest bed seems good) to regurgitate it and save it for later. Once he stole some chicken wings and I had a moment of panic, thinking, dogs aren't supposed to eat chicken wings! And then I realized, hey, as a feral dog he has been eating chicken bones all his life! Charlie is very street smart.
