Meet Chance

Hello! My name is Chance. I am an American Bulldog mix. My dad and his brothers chose my name for me because I look like that dude in the movie “Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey.” Well, if I could speak, I would say that my name is “so awesome” that it fits me perfectly. I am only 1 year old but my life so far has been really incredible, if not, an everyday miracle. My name is Chance for I was given a chance – to live, laugh, and love. You see, I was rescued at an animal shelter together with my two sisters. We were found as strays, maybe along some dangerous freeway, and then brought to the shelter for adoption. We were still babies! The shelter kept us until we were 2 months old before opening the doors for people to adopt us. Let me tell you this, it was a scary moment for me and my sisters. Why? It’s because if nobody wanted to keep us, we would’ve been put to sleep – meaning, euthanized (this is a big word for me so please just google for more details but it means d-e-a-t-h). But lo and behold! Like teenage mutant ninja turtles coming to the rescue and glowing with a pink light all around them, I saw my dad and his brothers! Yay! They were adopting me! They picked me up, signed my release papers, and brought me home! The feeling was like being born again – to human parents :) I have regular visits to the doctor (a bulldog specialist). I have my own bed, own toiletries, the best food (some are even homemade), own car seat, own water jug, and the list goes on! I use baby wipes too! I even went to school and graduated first in class (like, literally, I was the first because no one else was ready yet haha). And last Christmas? I had my first picture taken with Santa! Life is incredible for me so far and I would not want to run this journey any other way. I belong to the best family in the whole wide universe! Needless to say, I am the happiest dog – ever!
