Meet Browne

I use to be a animal cruelty investigator. Just a little over a year ago I had been at a training course and got an emergency call for an animal in distress. The area the dog was located in was an area normally my department did not have jurisdiction in. I spoke with my supervisor and she gave me approval to go check out the situation. Browne was laying out in the middle of a snow storm for a couple of weeks, about 20 degrees outside, no shelter, no food, no water and so weak from starvation he could not walk. Apparently no one knew who's dog he was or where he came from. Bystanders would just say they call him brown dog and he has been laid out in the snow for a couple weeks now. I realized I was not going to obtain any useful information from the people. I loaded up Browne and took him into the office.He weighed a measly 65 lbs soaking wet. Browne is a great dane, Gsp mix and should weigh over 100 lbs easy. I could count every single bone on his body. I took Browne home hoping I could nurse him back to health and possibly get him into a rescue. I fell in love with him,and him me. He slowly but surely recovered. Just over a year since he became part of my family, my Browne weighs in at 126 lbs, is not only mobile but he loves to sprint and run around everywhere. He is the best dog ever. I am so thankful our paths crossed and I was able to help a gorgeous creature out of a hideous situation and gain a best friend.
