Meet Barbie Hughes

I rescued Barbie from our local animal shelter the day before she was scheduled to be put down. She had picked up as a stray and spent three months at the shelter. Her behavior had deteriorated to the point of being unadoptable. The first time I looked into her brown eyes there was no spark, no hope just despair. Despite her fear-based behavior problems, I decided I could not let her die. She needed someone to believe in her enough to try. Four years later, she is happy, safe and loved.
