Meet Bali
This is Bali. I'm a firm believer in the saying that my dog rescued me. We both actually share some of the same phobias and together we work on getting better without medication. There's only one way to recover from phobias and it is the natural way by not letting the phobias control you, but you control the phobias. Of course, her being a dog/human like fuzzy daughter, I'm not sure she understands some of the phobias on the level I do. She's always been afraid of anything and everything. Wheels, men, and things coming out of shadows at night top of her phobias. She's gotten better with wheels, it's down to skateboards and bicycles. If she's not startled and she see's it ahead of time and not making obnoxious noises, she just moves out of the way instead of dodging into a random direction while on leash. With men, she's okay with males in dog parks long as they let her come up to "him" first when she wants to. She's a dog's dog and always will be. Our current project is getting over her fear of tall men anyone over 5'9." My bf is 6'2'', and its working out very well long as he doesn't get up from the couch too fast. But in like any other zone, if were not in some place she knows, she freaks out if she's not on a good day. I'm just convinced she believes in monsters and ghosts at night. If someone comes out of a dark shady area and she realizes a few moments later she knows the person, she never forgives them for startling her at night. I'm not exactly sure how to fix this issue. I knew when I got her, she was going to be work, and that's fine. All she needed was someone with a little extra patience and willing to help her out on her terms. I wouldn't have asked for any other dog. She is my daughter, I mean why not, she has the energy of a three year old! And demands attention like one!
