Woofstock on Dragons’ Den!

My friend, Marlene Cook, creator of Woofstock, North America’s
largest outdoor festival for dogs (held in Toronto every June), is going to be
on an upcoming Dragons’ Den episode, November 25th at 8pm on CBC TV. Tune in to see how she fares! The show has a reputation for making
aspiring entrepreneurs quake in their shoes whilst they pitch their business
ideas, services and products to a panel of hard-nosed business-investor moguls
in hopes of being provided with the start-up cash needed to make their dreams a
reality.

The entrepreneurs on the show need to be prepared, courageous and
passionate about their business concept, or risk being torn to shreds
by the ruthless Dragons (who, after all, are considering investing
their own personal funds in the pitched buiness plans). I’ve literally
cringed while watching aspiring entrepreneurs publicly
humiliated for concepts the Dragons have deemed silly or worse;
however, I think business-savy
Marlene Cook will do all right. At the very least, it’s bound to be
entertaining; she’s going on the show with five look-alike
dogs matched to the style and personality of each of the show’s
no-nonsense
Dragon panelists. Here’s hoping they like her idea and she gets the
investment she’s looking for. If successful, she’ll secure
funds to launch an indoor winter version and expand Woofstock to the
US!
