I recently heard of this amazing Australian Cattle Dog, Sophie Tucker, who survived a "trauma in the tropics" ordeal.  She was travelling with her owners on a sailboat off the coast of Queensland when rough waters caused her to fall overboard where she was lost at sea.  Over four months later who owners were contacted when Rangers found Sophie on a remote tropical island.  She swam over five nautical miles through shark infested waters in order to get there, then survived on a diet of feral goats. This is one amazing dog who was more than elated to be reunited with her family. I love "happy ending" stories like this… to see the  BBC video on this click below.
