September is National Disaster Preparedness Month Be Ready For Anything With Worldwise® Pet Carriers And Totes
From extreme events like tornados, hurricanes and earthquakes to floods and house fires, no one is invulnerable to a disaster, and no one knows when one will strike. September is National Disaster Preparedness Month, and the best way to deal with a disaster is to be sure you and your family are prepared with water, blankets, evacuation plans and more. Part of that plan should include a way to contain and safely transport pets and Worldwise’s assortment of pet carriers and totes provide an easy and safe solution.
“No one wants to think about what could happen in the event of a disaster, but it is important to have a plan that also includes the family pets,” said Aimee Diskin, Director of Innovation and Product Development at Worldwise®, Inc. “It is important to remember that animals will be just as scared as you are in the event of a large disaster, so it is essential that you are able to contain them and transport them to safety.”
Worldwise’s SHERPA® line includes a selection of eight stylish and functional carriers that will serve pets and their owners both in everyday use and in the event of a disaster. The most popular of these is the Original Deluxe™. Offered in three sizes, the Original Deluxe features locking zippers for safety, three mesh panels for ventilation, top and side entry options, a seat belt strap to secure it inside the car and a machine washable faux lamb’s wool liner.
Created specifically with cats in mind, the SmartyKat® Carryin’ Cove™ is a a three-in-one corrugated scratcher, hideout and carrier. Fold down the front flap to use as a scratcher and hideout, and then convert to a secure carrier in seconds whenever needed. Regular use of the scratcher and hideout acclimates cats to the space, reducing travel stress when used as a carrier.
“We all hope that we will never be faced with a disaster,” added Cristen Underwood, Director of Canine Toy & Accessory Product Development for Worldwise. “But being prepared to get the entire family to safety is something that all responsible pet parents should do. Having a SHERPA or SmartyKat carrier at the ready is a good first step.”
