Being that Cash is a rescue, we don’t have his exact date of birth; however we always celebrate his birthday during the first week of July since this is his estimated time of arrival. In honour of my baby boy’s 8th year, we decided to commemorate him with a gift that perfectly emulates his most distinct characteristics – an overly large, colourful and joyful portrait from Vancouver artist Shannon Thiesen that now hangs proudly in our living room. I might be anthropomorphizing, but doesn’t he just look so proud? I swear that ever since we began displaying his portrait, he’s been exuding an air of haughtiness that certainly wasn’t evident before…Oh well, I guess that’s one of the benefits of being a distinct, older gentleman.
