From time to time we hear about heroic animals… those who know that something is wrong, then risk their own lives to save others. Today I’d like to shine the spotlight on a 14 year-old Bernese mountain dog cross, named Kenai, who will receive the American Humane Association’s Golden Paw Award today for his heroic efforts. This past Sunday he saved nine people and four other dogs from carbon monoxide poisoning by waking up one of the sleeping adults who was then able to get the others out of the house to seek help. Way to go Kenai!!
