Kaya enjoyed a "wild" time this Easter weekend when she visited our home in the country.  Although I’ve been feeling a bit depressed about my aging dog’s ability to get around and enjoy life the way she used to (she sometimes falls down and needs help getting up again, she’s becoming incontinent and is also losing her hearing and eyesight), my spirits got a lift when she surprised me by regaining, albeit temporarily, a youthful surge of energy. She spotted a rabbit in the garden and with a Woo Hoo Hoo Hoo she was off giving chase, running after it at an amazingly fast clip albeit a little sideways due to her arthritic right hip.  She of course didn’t catch the bunny, but had some fun with the chase. I certainly didn’t think she had it in her… it gave me a laugh and made me realize that although her days are numbered, there are more than a few of them left.
