What if, for just one day, everyone joined together online to help promote homeless pets? Just imagine how many homeless pets might find their forever homes. Well, that’s exactly what Petfinder.com is envisioning for their 15th birthday celebration.

This Tuesday, March 15th, they’re asking people everywhere to pledge to spread the word online about adoptable pets, and Modern Dog is a proud supporter of their effort. We’re posting our own rescue stories, like War of the Roses, or how Modern Dog’s Editor and Creative Director landed with a welcome but unplanned addition to her household, and how I found my new dog, Penny, a scruffily adorable Wirehaired Dachshund I adopted from the
Victoria SPCA. She helped heal the heartache I suffered when
Kaya, my previous dog, passed on. It’s funny, how in saving a dog they
so often save you right back.We’ll also be announcing an adoption story writing contest today on Modern Dog’s Facebook and Twitter accounts!

Here are easy ways you, too, can get involved and help promote pet adoption:

  • Add a badge to your web site to show your support
  • Take Petfinder’s pledge that you will tell one person about pet adoption on March 15. By pledging, you’ll be entered for a chance to win one of 10 Pet Hair Eraser® Vacuums from BISSELL.
