AKC Announces Most Popular Dogs in the US
Bigger breeds dominate the top 10

The American Kennel Club has just release the current top 10 most popular breeds list in USA, with bigger dogs wrestling their way to the top of the list. Remaining unchanged however, is the breed taking the top spot; the number one most popular breed in the U.S. for the 22nd consecutive year is….drum roll please….the Labrador Retriever.

"Bigger breeds are making their move," said AKC Spokesperson Lisa Peterson. "The popularity of the pint-sized, portable pooch just gave way to a litter of larger breeds in the Top 10. These predictable, durable, steady breeds, like Labs and Goldens, are great with kids and offer the whole family more dog to love."

While the dogs on this list are all great... and in 65 years I have owned a few of them... it's not surprising that the steady lovable family labrador tops the list.... but my 20 lb Havanese should also rate.... He is quiet, friendly and steady companion... great with children and adults too... well behaved and obedient.... Please consider this breed for next time.
