An important part of Modern Dog’s mandate is to support the efforts of those who devote time and money helping animals in need. We uphold this mandate through donations, participation and publicity. For instance, we created the Modern Dog Donation Program to help rescue organizations raise funds; through sponsorships we get involved in rescue events throughout North America; and, in each issue of Modern Dog we shine the spotlight on rescue-minded individuals or organizations, bringing them well-deserved recognition, while promoting rescue as a first-choice.  

To further this awareness, we’ve recently added a blog on Modern Dog’s website devoted to rescue which was spearheaded by none other than Carreen Maloney, a much-loved contributor to Modern Dog and passionate (and tireless) animal advocate.  I hope that you will take some time to visit her blog, read her posts and enter your own experiences or comments.
