GoPetFriendly.com Maps Out the Top Pet Friendly Destinations in Each State

Focusing on locations of natural wonder, historical significance, and quintessential Americana, GoPetFriendly.com, the premier pet travel website, has designed The Ultimate Pet Friendly Road Trip for cross-country travelers and their furry friends.

Inspired by genius Randy Olson’s data-driven route for touring the lower 48 states, GoPetFriendly.com took on the challenge of identifying the optimal road trip route specifically for adventurers traveling with pets. For pet lovers, nothing is better than finding the perfect vacation spot that not only accepts their pets, but welcomes them with
open arms – and this trip offers up 48 of them! The final itinerary provides a robust variety of destinations and activities that have been pre-vetted by GoPetFriendly.com as
pet friendly.

“Our mission is to make traveling with pets easier and more enjoyable,” said Amy Burkert, founder of GoPetFriendly.com. “By highlighting destinations throughout the
U.S. that have proven themselves to be pet friendly, we hope to encourage more people to include their pets in their travel plans – whether they are headed across country or across the state.”

From beaches to mountaintops, canoe trips to train rides, bustling cities to quiet retreats, the entire route is 14,199 miles and would take 276 hours to drive; although
GoPetFriendly.com estimates that it would actually take closer to two to three months to enjoy the entire tour. The first leg of the trip begins in West Virginia, heading north up the east coast and ending at Dog Mountain in Vermont. Next it travels west, traversing the northern states until reaching the Dog Bark Park Inn in Idaho. From there, the trail proceeds south to Texas, leading to the San Antonio River Walk. And, finally, weaving its way through the southern states, the route returns to West Virginia and ends at Monongahela National Forest.
