Elanco and Canine Assistants Honor Family Pets and Service Dogs through celebratethebond.com

Research shows there is an unbreakable, mutually beneficial bond between people and their pets that influences both the psychological and physiological well-being of the other.

To celebrate and ultimately protect that bond, Elanco Animal Health today announced a partnership in which it is providing a financial contribution and product donation to Canine Assistants, an organization that trains and places service dogs.

"We're proud to work with Elanco to help provide physical, social and emotional support through healthy, happy, long-living service dogs," said Jennifer Arnold, founder of Canine Assistants. "Together, we're enabling those in need to achieve greater independence, confidence and happiness."

Pet lovers can join the celebration through www.celebratethebond.com, a website highlighting the partnership and the benefits of the human/animal bond. On the website, they can:

  • Take a Canine Connection quiz to help identify what type of relationship they have with their own dogs. For example, are you and your dog social butterflies? Masterminds? Or even jesters?
  • View videos that tell the story of "What does your dog mean to you?" from the minds and hearts of service dog recipients, veterinarians and other consumers.
  • Learn more about the partnership, the unique bond between humans and their pets, and the role the vet plays in protecting the bond.
  • Find out how they can support Canine Assistants.

"We are committed to the health and happiness of dogs, which includes helping them to enjoy healthy lives with their human companions," said Jessica Petty, Elanco product marketing manager. "Through our partnership with Canine Assistants, we're helping safeguard the special relationship between service dogs and those with physical disabilities or other special needs."
