Area’s Largest Adoption Event Offers Dogs and Cats 226 Forever Homes

CINCINNATI– March 21 – Greater Cincinnati’s largest annual pet adoption event, My Furry Valentine (MFV), successfully paired 226 dogs, cats and pocket pets with their forever humans, according to Alison Cremeans, Alcott® brand manager, product developer and volunteer site manager of the third annual event. The two-day event welcomed more than 4,700 visitors to meet 490 animals in need of homes from 47 different rescues/shelters in the 50,000 sq. ft. Alcott warehouse. To support the mission of saving lives, the 150 volunteers left exhausted, but elated, after watching several hundred animals leave with their new families.

“We are a proud supporter of Carolyn Evans, a local pet photographer and advocate for animals everywhere, and her vision to create the unique event. As far as we know, it is the largest privately held pet adoption event in the nation,” said Cremeans. “We are still counting the number of successful adoptions that happened as a result of meeting at MFV, but Alcott couldn’t be more pleased to contribute our warehouse, products and personnel to support this cause.”

The event was hosted by Alcott, a brand new collection of adventure gear for thrill seekers and their thrill sniffers, and phoDOGrapher, Cincinnati’s premier pet photographer. This year IAMS, one of the event Top Dog sponsors, donated more than 40 tons of pet food to MFV participating animal welfare organizations. 94.9 Cincinnati’s Best Mix was also a Top Dog sponsor along with IAMS, with additional sponsorships from Uncle Ulrick’s, Anderson Township Family Pet Center, Camp Bow Wow, Paw Joggers, The Pet Spot and United Pet Fund.
