My best friend, first dog guardian angel Nigel passed two days ago. As i was holding him I felt something rush away from me and up and when I looked it was Nigel, no gray hair flying across a grassy field, big grin on his face because he was running toward his best friend chance in heaven. His joy was palpable, and he didn’t look back at me, only forward. So it must have been something extremely good enticing him. But he took most of my heart with him, and I will miss him forever. I hope his octopus toy exists in heaven so he can suckle contentedly.
His spiked collar hangs with his harness next to the door, feeling lonely without Nigel, just like me.
