I think people have preconceptions about Pugs, that they’re these lazy, gassy and clumsy oafs. All of that may be true at times (one of the reasons I love them!) but some Pugs are natural athletes. Take Roxy, she is, by nature, an adventurer. Sure she loves to relax on the deck to catch some rays, but after a few minutes of lounging you’ll find her back in the pool, searching feverishly underwater for that ever-elusive bobbing tennis ball. She’ll fearlessly stick her entire head underneath until she finds that ball!

She also loves hanging out at the off-leash park with Cash and the other regulars, but the heat does get to her faster than the others. It’s times like these that Roxy reverts back to her natural Pug instincts – find a patch of shade and kick back for some super loud Pug snores.

The grass at our dog park can get quite dry and prickly in the summer, so after a while Roxy starts to itch. Being that she is quite rotund, it can be hard to scratch a particularly itchy itch, so Roxy rolls joyously in the grass to really get it good.

After all of this hard work, Roxy likes to have a good stretch, which is important for keeping her limper and loose.

It looks like she’s resting, but in reality her frog-leg stretch is key to her cool down routine in preparation for all the activities she has planned for the next round of intense Pug-aerobics. See, no lazy Pugs here.
