I absolutely HATE the word cancer. It has affected too many people and dogs that I love. We recently had a close call with Cash when a lump we found on his neck turned out to be a cyst (thank DOG!). According to the National Canine Cancer Foundation (NCCF), cancer affects 1 out of every 3 dogs, and of those three, kills more than half. This is not acceptable. So, along with the NCCF, my dogs and I are washing away cancer in honour of November being National Canine Cancer Awareness month. I will upload photos of my beleaguered pups gettin’ sudsy in an effort to raise awareness of this disease and the need for a cure (which, by the way, helps in finding a cure for humans too. Don’t forget we share 97% of our DNA!) Join me in scrubbing your dirty dogs clean for the 2nd annual National Dog Wash because, after all, cancer is a dirty word.

Looking for more ways to help? Order a National Dog Wash packet! For only $10, you’ll receive a dog-washing package, including grooming products from John Paul pet, $5 off a grooming package from Petco, and best of all, a free issue of Modern Dog!

It was a tough job, but someone had to do it
