In addition to my fervent love of dogs, I also harbour a relatively harmless obsession with dinosaurs (and Jurassic Park, for that matter). As you can imagine, I was absolutely delighted yesterday that a new species of dinosaur has been discovered in my native province of Alberta, and even more surprised to discover a correlation with the dog world! The gryphoceratops morrisoni, named after the paleontologist that discovered it, is thought to be a cousin of the much larger triceratops, however it would have been about the size of a Border Collie! It’s hard to believe that this exquisite and intimidating creature was only half a meter long, but dino bones don’t lie. I personally think it looks somewhat similar to Roxy.
