To be completely honest, it's been a rough couple of months for me and my dogs. First, after over two years as a foster in our home, Chance left us and returned to SAINTS due to his declining health. Following that heartbreak, we decided to foster another dog who we quickly fell in love with; however he ended up having dog aggression issues which resulted in Cash getting hurt. This was the ultimate blow, as I felt incredibly guilty and responsible for letting something bad happen to my

I hope all of my Canadian readers had a wonderful Thanksgiving this past weekend! To celebrate we gave the dogs a disgustingly delicious dish made of mashed chic peas, carrots, cucumber, sardines and raw ground beef. To me, barfy, to them, the best thing that ever happened.

After devouring their special holiday feast, we decided to spend the day searching for adventure, and stumbled upon a really awesome sandy beach only 15 minutes from our house! The dogs love to play in the

After several years of trying to resist allowing Roxy and Cash up on the furniture, I've recently come to the conclusion that life is too short not to snuggle all the time. So now the dogs join me on the couch anytime I'm on it. This has improved both mine and their quality of life substantially, however it has quickly aged my sofa, not to mention making it smell really bad. I tried throwing down a comforter first, but found it to be too large and too hot, that is until I found the

It's hard to find fun things to do that are dog-inclusive, so when we do I get very, very excited! Yesterday we decided to take a leisurely Sunday drive and happened upon the Kilby Historic site which is about 25 minutes from Abbotsford, or 90 minutes from Vancouver. This historical property houses several original buildings and artifacts from the town of Harrison Mills, but most importantly for me, it's also dog-friendly! This, combined with

I was so excited yesterday when Roxy's birthday present finally arrived in the mail - two custom, hand-carved leather collars from our friends at Paco Collars! Aren't they gorgeous? I don't want to brag or anything, but the design was my idea, inspired by one of my fave tattoos and come to fruition with a LOT of help from Josie, one of the resident artisans. I told her I wanted the collar to feature swallows and roses, and she took my

Every year around this time I like to share my fave finds from the SuperZoo pet industry trade show. This year, my pics range from retro bowls to holiday-themed toys and treats, to a handmade tag that perfectly expresses my love for dog.

Dear folks at Hide-a-Squirrel,

Thank you for making one of the best dog toys of all time. I've seen these plush, squirrel-stuffed tree stumps at pet stores before but they didn't particularly appeal to me as they always seemed too small to withstand Cash's wrath. However, this year you came out with a jumbo one to commemorate your 10th year anniversary, and it is totally pawesome.

I thought the dogs would begin by first exploring the unknown toy to asses the damage they

I just want to say a big thank you for all the well wishes Cash has received, ya'll are so nice! He is feeling much better and is nearly back to his old self. We were a bit sad that his neck injury meant we couldn't go for walks, but when the kind people at Silverfoot heard Cash can no longer wear a collar, they over-nighted a beautiful harness and leash combo so we could get out and about again!

Oh boy, the excitement never ends at my house! Cash sustained an injury this week that required some major stitching (ewww!) but he's doing well! Since the big booboo is on his neck, he can't actually wear one of those hard plastic cones (I'm sure he's very disappointed) so we weren't sure what to do to prevent him and Roxy from touching the wound while we're away at work all day.

Luckily, I know a lot of nice people in the pet industry, and the lovely folks over at

My dogs are just so dang smart! When I get home everyday, I find Cash waiting eagerly for my arrival at the front door. I've always assumed that he made his way to the door once he heard my car pull into the garage, however yesterday Jeremy advised me that wasn't the case.

Apparently Cash doesn't get off the couch at all from the time Jeremy gets home (about two hours before me) until 10 minutes before I arrive. Once the clock hits 6:50, Jer said that Cash gets up off the couch and
